74% noted their clients are all located in their regional vicinity. However, most service providers aren’t taking action. 85% of clients would consider using a service provider outside their geographic area and employees agree – 90% believe it would be beneficial to engage with clients outside their region. Digital offers geographic expansion opportunities as both clients and talent are open to remote collaboration.Almost three-quarters of employees (73%) believe digital solutions will be extremely important to improve business efficiency and 60% believe they will be extremely important in enhancing client service delivery and account management moving forward – underpinning the need for a comprehensive approach to manage workflows. Service providers are responding to client demand by investing in digital but the opportunity exists to consolidate and automate routine processes and tasks. This challenge has only worsened, as 63% of employees and 64% of clients felt the same in 2020. Over two-thirds of employees (67%) and 72% of clients believe their company uses so many different digital tools and technologies that create bottlenecks and make certain tasks more complex. Clients and employees suffer the effects of digital fragmentation, with disjointed service delivery across many tools and channels being a major pain point. In 2020, a similar percentage (89%) agreed with the statement. 90% of clients agree their preferred method of communication when asking questions about account/business transactions is digitally (via a designated client portal), rather than scheduling an in-person appointment or phone call. Clients demand digital service delivery, even when hybrid and in-person options are available. Fungal isolates fulfilling the above criteria for pathogenicity were separated into 13 morphotypes (MT1–MT13) representing isolates with strong or moderate pathogenic potential (category A and B isolates in Table 1) and possible but uncertain pathogens MT14–MT19 (category C isolates in Table 1). Diversity tracking of the 284 isolates assigned them into 26 morphotypes included in 4 categories. Discussionįor the identification of isolates to the species level and classification to appropriate risk group, DNA-based methods are required. The formation of new conidia was prevented by exposure to 1000 µg mL −1 of Genapol but occurred in amounts similar to that of the control in concentration of 100 µg ml −1 of Genapol. Genapol exposure in all the concentrations tested appeared to inhibit the formation of Hülle cells. Triclosan caused a strong Hülle cell formation at 8 µg mL − 1, but no new conidiophores were seen. Genapol did not inhibit the germination of conidia in the tested concentration, the EC 100 concentration was >5000 µg mL −1. The results in Table 5 show that Triclosan was the most effective inhibitor of the germination of conidia EC 100 concentrations were 16 µg ml −1 for Triclosan and 5000 µg mL −1 for Borax. calidoustus strain MH34 were exposed to the chemicals in malt extract broth and examined under light microscope after 3 d and 9 weeks of exposure. The effects of two biocides, Borax and Triclosan, and the surfactant Genapol-X-080, on the germination of conidia and the formation of new conidia and Hülle cells was investigated. Studies on Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus calidodoustus revealed that tolerance to cleaning chemicals may contribute to the adaptation of Aspergillus species to indoor environments. Aspergillus was the dominant, most diverse genus found during screening for potentially pathogenic isolates in the indoor strain collection. Opportunistic pathogens such as Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus tubingensis and less likely pathogens such as Aspergillus westerdijkiae, Chaetomium globosum and Dichotomopilus finlandicus were isolated both from ordinary and from problematic buildings. The problematic buildings included known opportunistic pathogens: Aspergillus calidoustus, Trichoderma longibrachiatum, Rhizopus arrhizus and Paecilomyces variotii, as well as less likely pathogens: Aspergillus versicolor, Chaetomium cochliodes, Chaetomium globosum and Chaetomium rectangulare. Out of these categories, 33 and 33 strains, respectively, were identified to the species level. Forty-seven isolates growing at 30 ☌ but not at 37 ☌ were considered as less likely pathogens. Out of the screened isolates, 170 isolates were unable to grow at 37 ☌, whereas 67 isolates growing at pH 7.2 at 37 ☌ were considered as potential opportunistic pathogens. The isolates were collected from 20 locations including 14 problematic and 6 non-problematic ordinary buildings. In this study, 284 indoor fungal isolates from a strain collection of indoor fungi were screened for pathogenic potential through the ability to grow in neutral pH at 37 ☌ and 30 ☌. Viable airborne pathogenic fungi represent a potential health hazard when exposing vulnerable persons in quantities exceeding their resilience. Here we make the assumption of the asterisk being “Shift + 8” and the tilde being “Shift + Backtick (`)”, but this isn’t always the case. Here’s what I typed below: Here’s an example of ~~crossed out~~ text Formatting on International Keyboard LayoutsĪ reader recently pointed out that international keyboard layouts should be considered as well. To create italics or Discord italic text, you have to type the asterisk once again, but this time use only one asterisk. Here’s an example of **bolded text** How to Italicize Text (Create Slanted Discord Italics) For now, all you have to know is that Discord uses Markdown for its text formatting, and Highlight.js for code block highlighting. You don’t have to remember all those nitty-gritty details. This will all make much more sense when we get to some juicy examples down below. What does exist for our text-coloring purposes, though, is a “hacked” version of text highlighting using syntax coloring methods from highlight.js.Įven though we can’t directly highlight text, we can create a Discord code block, point it towards a specific syntax highlighting profile included in highlight.js, and then use that to our advantage by wrapping our text in the appropriate symbols. You can’t say, “I want this word to be in red, and this one to be in blue!”. Now, I want to make it clear that Discord doesn’t have true full-text highlighting. Highlight.js Makes Color Possibleīefore we dig into markdown I wanted to explain another neat feature the Discord developers added on. We’re going to dig into Discord Markdown in the next section so you can learn how to properly format all of your messages in any way you’d like. You’ll learn the basics behind Discord’s formatting engine (Markdown & Highlight.js), basic formatting commands (bolding, italicizing, underlining, etc.), and you’ll learn how to type out text in boxes and code blocks - in color! If you’re reading this, you’ve probably been that guy or gal (or you’re trying to avoid all the disappointment and become a Discord text formatting wiz!)Įither way, today I’m going to show you how to type out literally every single format the Discord App offers. In this guide, we’re going to walk through Discord text formatting in detail, and show you exactly how to color text, bold it, italicize it, and much more! You Can Learn Awesome Discord Text Formatting What kind of Discord command(s) were people using to format their text so nicely? People were typing in underlines, bolded letters, strikethrough text, italics, and even colors within the Discord chat! “How in the world do people type in colors within their Discord message?!”, I thought. This article contains some spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Homeĭespite what its title promised, Spider-Man: No Way Home has found a way home. It was wild, especially for a device that had a few minor math bugs in its first shipping batch (HP gave everyone a free replacement). Companies like General Electric ordered tens of thousands of units. However, back in 1972, and at a price of only $395 ($2,350 in 2017 dollars), the HP-35 changed the world. The calculator app in your smartphone is much more powerful. If you look at the HP-35 today, it seems laughably simplistic. The earliest days: Basic slide-rule calculators And that became the pocket slide-rule calculator revolution, starting off with the amazing HP-35. However, something better was needed, something affordable, something that could become a mass-market item. However, it was big and it was expensive-about $35,900 in 2017 dollars, or the price of a nice car! HP had a market for the HP-9100A, since it already sold test equipment into many labs. The HP-9100A did everything a slide rule could do, and more-such as trig, polar/rectangular conversions, and exponents and roots. Hewlett-Packard unleashed a monster when it created the HP-9100A desktop calculator, released in 1968 at a price of about $5,000. And if you were chaining calculations (needed in all but the simplest problems), accuracy dropped with each successive operation. With slide rules, you had to keep track of the decimal point yourself: The slide rule might tell you the answer is 641, but you had to know if that was 64.1 or 0.641 or 641.0. Three digits was fine for real-world engineering, but not enough for finance. They were good to about three digits of accuracy, no more, in the hands of a skilled operator. Doing trig, like sines, cosines, and tangents? Easy. Slide rules are really good at few things. Mathematicians never carried slide rules, but astronauts did, as their backup computers.Įverything the slide rule could do, a so-called slide-rule calculator could do better-and more accurately. Rather, they are asked by working engineers, technicians, military ballistics officers, and financiers, all of whom need an actual number: Given this set of inputs, tell me the answer.īefore the modern era (say, the 1970s), these problems could be hard to solve, requiring a lot of pencils and paper, a book of tables, or a slide rule. Those sorts of questions aren’t asked by mathematicians, who are the people who derive equations to solve problems in a general way. I knocked the app down a half a star because the interface is kinda clunky and fugly (the dev should just copy Lightroom's interface), and because the user manual does not help at all to explain the basic concepts of tone-mapping, fusion merging and deghosting (it simply explains what each slider and adjustment does). Exposure merging is a bonus feature in Photomatix Pro that isn't included in most other HDR apps. Email Support Customer Service: Technical Support: Technical Support Form For queries on a licensing or ordering issue, you can expect an answer within 24 hours. I have not yet used any of the Exposure Fusion options (these are not HDR - they simply merge multiple exposures, which is useful for night photography, for example). If you purchased Photomatix Essentials you can upgrade to Photomatix Pro from here. I plan to create a few of my own presets as there aren't that many built-in presets that provide a natural or realistic looking result. My approach is to find a preset that provides a reasonable result and tweak the settings from there. I have used both the Contrast Optimizer and Detail Enhancer tone-mapping methods with good results. The raw file conversion in Photomatix Pro is okay, but even the dev admits it is not as good as Lightroom/ACR or other high-end raw converters. I export images from Lightroom using the plugin supplied with Photomatix Pro (if you use ProPhoto RGB in Lightroom, check the dev's website for instructions as to how to preserve this colour profile on export). ODesk empowers entrepreneurs to break these barriers by hiring the best talent regardless of geography, managing online teams as if they shared an office, and paying freelancers seamlessly, even across international borders. “And even after you’ve managed to hire, the war for talent is not over-retaining star employees is often cost-prohibitive for startups.” “Even if the ideal hire lives within a 50-mile commuting radius, startups will need a plan to actually find, attract, and afford them,” said oDesk CEO Gary Swart. If it weren’t for oDesk I would have to hire an individual and pay them- I would have that individual on the payroll and working on a concept that potentially wasn’t going to work out.” If it pans out, it’s a new revenue feature. Nick Blasgen, founder of Refractive Dialer (a cloud-based dialing system for Salesforce) says, “It probably costs me a few hundred dollars to give me an idea of whether we can pursue it. Experimenting with new features, programs or prototypes, with minimal risk: Startups can also hire freelancers to do proofs of concept.“As long as oDesk exists, projects that don’t match the founders’ skill sets should be delegated.” “Every startup should be thinking about how to best leverage their founding team,” said Teddle co-founder Alex Depledge.
